There is nothing more rewarding than seeing former patients make a full recovery from their injuries and go on to earn success in their sport. Here is a story about two former patients who started out as strangers but coincidentally became teammates. Vinny Papageorgiou was a patient of ProEx Woburn while Trent Roy, the son of ProEx employee Beth Bedell, was a patient of the Stratham clinic. This year, they began playing on the same soccer team at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH.
Franklin Pierce University, a Division II school, plays in the Northeast 10 Conference. Vinny, a senior at Franklin Pierce, was named Goalkeeper of the Year for the Northeast 10 Conference, playing every minute of every game. He was also named Goalkeeper of the Week for the week of 10/24/11.
Trent, a freshman at Franklin Pierce, won Rookie of the Week for the week of 10/24/11. He was also named to the All Rookie Team for the Northeast 10 Conference.
The Franklin Pierce team won the NCAA playoffs and went to the Final Four playoffs undefeated. They finished the season with a record of 21-1-1. The only game they lost was the semifinal game in the Final Four.
Way to go Vinny and Trent!
