Just before 6pm on September 17th, the 12 members of Team ProEx finished their second Reach the Beach Relay Race, the longest distance running relay race in the United States. The team crossed the finish line at Hampton Beach State Park after running 200 miles within a 28 hour time period, averaging 8:42 minutes/mile.
The race began on Friday, September 16th, in Franconia, NH, continued through the White Mountains and finished in Hampton, NH the following day.
In addition to entering a team in the race, ProEx staff also worked the event on Saturday afternoon, providing post-race stretches to all participants and free injury screenings to those in need.
The ProEx tent was equipped with 3 treatment tables where licensed Physical Therapists worked tirelessly on the continous flow of runners interested in a stretch or an orthopedic evaluation.
“This was a great day,” said Joe Dattilo, PT and Regional Clinical Director of the Southern NH region at ProEx. “I'm so proud of the staff members who ran the race as well as those who volunteered their time to work the event. It's important to us at ProEx to educate the community on injury prevention, and it's events like this one that provide us with the opportunity.”
