The rain can't stop tradition in Woburn. After poor weather had cancelled the original parade date, Woburnites were more than happy to go down to Weafer Park on Sunday, May 22nd for a raindate. This year marked a special milestone as Woburn Little League celebrated it's 60th Anniversary. Parents, coaches and athletes gathered together to celebrate what this organization has done for the city.
Players of all ages had a list of games and activities to participate in, which included a home run derby contest, pitch and guess your speed, and a dynamic warm-up led by Matt McManus, PT and Regional Clinical Director for ProEx. The warm-up was to prepare the Little Leaguers for their hit, run and fielding contests.
"The day was a huge success. The kids had a great time today and hopefully they all learned something about proper warm-up, " said McManus. "It's important that kids learn some of these techniques while they are young, so I am glad to help out."
Major League Baseball and Aquafina were the major sponsors of the "Pitch, Hit and Run", a national contest for kids ages 7-14. For more information on this contest, please go to http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/kids/mlb_pitch_hit_run.jsp
