ProEx jumped at the opportunity to team up with Be Well Woburn again at the "Spring into Health" Health and Wellness Expo, which took place at the Woburn Memorial High School on Saturday, March 31st from 10am-2pm.
Be Well Woburn, a citywide initiative which creates opportunities that encourage healthy habits in children through educational programs and events, hosted the event in order to bring together the wellness resources in the community and increase health awareness through education and prevention.
The Expo featured free health screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations and interactive physical activities. At the ProEx booth, there was a timed fitness test of 30 seconds each: sit ups, push ups and squat thrusts. The test was divided into two different age groups; those under 13 years old and those 14 years old and over. The winner for the older group was Greg Forbes, with a total score of 89. The winner for the younger group was Shannan Ward with a score of 68.
"We had a great time today," said Jimmy Shea, Clinic Manager of ProEx Woburn. "It's nice to spend a day in the community especially when it involves educating residents on healthy lifestyle choices."
