Arlington, MA patient Lauren Widrick is an 11 year old figure skater. She has been figure skating since she was three, and this past spring developed tendinitis in her right foot, while working on landing her double salchow. Lauren’s former coach recommended she see Allison Stringer for Physical Therapy, as Allison has personal experience with the sport and professional experience working with injured skaters. Allison saw Lauren right away at ProEx’s Arlington, MA location.
Allison assessed Lauren’s injury and looked at her skates. She realized that Lauren’s blade had come out of alignment, which contributed to the injury. The blade was fixed, but Lauren still needed time to heal. The injury came at an inopportune time as Lauren’s team was in the midst of competition season and she was a vital part of the choreography.
Allison knew how important it was for Lauren to stay on the ice, and fulfill her commitment to her team. Lauren persevered, followed her Physical Therapy program, and never gave up. Now, after completing therapy at ProEx Physical Therapy, an affiliate of Professional Physical Therapy, Lauren is back on the ice, jumping and spinning!
