Our own Eric Kopp, PT and Director of Clinical Education at ProEx, and Lee Marinko, PT and Clinical Assistant Professor at Boston University, teamed up to give a poster presentation at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT) 2010 Annual Conference last week in San Antonio, Texas. The AAOMPT Conference is a national conference where those interested in orthopaedic manual physical therapy (OMPT) can meet and exchange ideas on research, practice, and patient care. This year's focus was Movement - Evidence for a Healthy Future. There were roughly 70 posters in this year's poster competition, all vying for first prize. Judges walked around to all participants and asked a series of questions relating to the subject matter of each poster. Eric and Lee's poster was based on the importance of clinical examination of the cervical spine in painful shoulder conditions in order to avoid surgery and contain costs, which is critical to health care reform.
