The Farmington CT ProEx Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine clinic is a 2800 sq ft facility that was established in 2007. This clinic currently operates with two physical therapists, three exercise technicians and additional support staff.
Our convenient location one mile off of exit 39 on US-84 allows us to serve the physical therapy and sports medicine needs of numerous towns and cities around Farmington. Farm Glen Boulevard is located on the East Bound side of Farmington Avenue, approximately one mile from US-84, Exit 39. We are the second building on the left when you turn onto Farm Glen. There is visitor parking in front of the building and extra parking in the back. We are located on the second floor. There is handicap access by elevator on garage level in back and on the first floor.
Tina McDonald, MS, PT received her masters degree in Physical Therapy from American International College in Springfield, MA in 2003. Tina is licensed in the state of Massachusetts and Connecticut. Tina is currently a member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association with primary interests in Sports and Orthopedic injuries and injury prevention. She is in the process of pursuing a certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Tina believes that patient education is vital to recovery and gives patients the tools to prevent future injury. While offering her expertise in exercise prescription and manual therapy, she maintains a fun and relaxing environment.
In addition to treating patients and serving as the Regional Clinical Director of the CT/Western MA region, Eric also serves as the Co-Director of Clinical Education for ProEx. Eric's teaching experience includes an adjunct faculty position at Quinnipiac University teaching in the Advanced Masters program and he maintains an active clinical teaching regimen in topics related to orthopedic manual therapy. Eric's years of clinical and teaching experience makes him a valuable member to the clinical education program.
Kristen Wentworth is a PT, DPT, and the Worker’s Compensation Coordinator. She grew up in Hampden, MA but now lives and works in Farmington, CT. Kristen went to Minnechaug Regional High School in Wilbraham. She went on to Boston University for both her undergraduate and graduate school degrees receiving her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from BU and also completed her Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Therapy with BU. When Kristen isn’t at the clinic her hobbies include Running, Triathlons, Biking, Boating, going to the Cape, and spending time with family especially her two nephews. One fun fact about Kristen is that she is a certified scuba diver and has an Olde English Bulldog Molly. Kristen’s biggest accomplishment has been developing and training a marathon relay team for individuals with spinal cord injury who completed the Kentucky Derby Marathon in 2012 as part of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Neurorecovery Network. In the future, Kristen sees herself working on program development, progressing with education and teaching. Her favorite thing about working for ProEx is the team approach and the dedicated heart at the core of the company. She also can’t help but love that her husband also works for ProEx!
Brian Wentworth is a physical therapist who grew up in Methuen, MA and now he lives in Farmington, CT with his wife Kristen. Brian graduated from Methuen High School and then went to Northeastern where he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He also completed Boston University’s Fellowship of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. As of now Brian is splitting time between ProEx Farmington and ProEx Springfield. When Brian isn’t working his hobbies include spending time with his wife and family, running, golfing, hiking, going to the Cape, and watching sports. Brian’s biggest accomplishment will be finishing up his fellowship and shaping his life with his wife. One cool fact about Brian is he enjoys cooking and he has treated in nine ProEx clinics. Brian also does volunteer work for his best friend’s foundation, The Tyler Weymouth Memorial Foundation, where he tries to raise awareness about sunscreen and the dangers of Melanoma. Also Brian’s favorite part about working for ProEx is the family atmosphere with the staff and patients, as well as the constant drive to be the best and well educated therapist in the country. In ten years Brian sees himself teaching at a university or in a business management role of PT. Brian also loves that he gets to work with his wife, Kristen Wentworth.
Ryan, who received both his Bachelor of Rehabilitation Science degree and Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northeastern University is not new to the ProEx family; he started with the practice several years ago as a coop in the Farmington clinic and subsequently as an Exercise Technician in the Boston location while attending Northeastern. Ryan lives in his hometown of West Hartford. In his spare time he enjoys golf, hiking, basketball, working out and traveling.
Lloyd joins us with several years of experience in the health care industry, working as a Rehabilitation Aide for the Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute in Morristown, New Jersey. He also holds a certificate in Computer Network and Security. In his spare time, Lloyd volunteers at food pantry associated with his church to serve others in need. Originally, from St. Thomas, Jamaica, Lloyd now resides in Hartford, CT. His exceptional work ethic and charitable nature make him a superior addition to the ProEx family.
Jay joins ProEx in the dual role of Front Desk Specialist and Exercise Technician. His responsibilities as Front Desk Specialist include greeting patients, obtaining authorizations and referrals, overseeing the clinic schedule and handling phone calls; as an Exercise Technician, he instructs, motivates, safeguards and assists patients with their therapeutic exercise programs. Prior to joining ProEx, Jay was a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Farmington High School, a post he maintains. He graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and is presently working toward his Master’s in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University. Originally from Philadelphia, Jay now lives in Springfield where in his spare time he enjoys powerlifting.
Patrick is as an Exercise Technician in the Farmington location. In this role Patrick instructs, motivates, safeguards and assists patients with their therapeutic exercise programs. Prior to joining ProEx, Patrick was a Regional Health & Fitness Consultant with General Nutrition Center. He graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. Patrick lives in his hometown of Bristol, Connecticut and is an active volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. He is a baseball enthusiast, having played the sport while at college and with the Pensacola Marlins, post-collegiate.
Melissa Hussey is a Front Desk Specialist in our ProEx Farmington, CT clinic. She grew up in upstate NY, near Lake Ontario and currently lives in Connecticut with her husband and son. Melissa received her degree in Biblical Studies with minor in Interdisciplinary of Social Services. When Melissa is not spending time at ProEx her hobbies include making crafts and antiquing, and all activities her son Nolan is involved in. Her favorite part of working for ProEx is to see the progress in the patients rehab from start to finish.
Brittany Mulcahy is a Front Desk Specialist/ Exercise Technician. She grew up in Terryville, Connecticut and was a graduate of Terryville High School in 2011. Brittany moved to Pensacola, Florida to receive her Associates of Arts Degree in Theatre and then continued her education at Florida State University, graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. At FSU, Brittany was a member of the Phi Theta Beta’s National Honor’s Society and FSU’s Tap Team, Seminole Tap Tribe. After graduation, Brittany moved back to Connecticut to pursue her dreams of performing professionally. You may catch Brittany performing in and choreographing different musicals around the state, which most recently included Grease and Mamma Mia at the Thomaston Opera House. Outside of theatre, Brittany loves to dance, and spend time with her family, which makes the fact that she works with her older brother Patrick, even better. In the future, Brittany plans to make the big move to NYC, perform on a professional level, and open up a dance studio for underprivileged youth. Brittany’s favorite thing about working at ProEx is coming to work each day to a friendly and supportive environment.
